We’re on the home stretch for E3 2016 press conference and next up on the list was Ubisoft.
It randomly opened up with Just Dance 2016 which is probably the best way to open the show and get the announcement out of the way at the front.
Next was the highly anticipated demo for Ghost Recon Wildlands. They showed a demo of the game with BRO-OP! You know Bro-op! The fake coop speak that riddled The Division for three years straight. It’s painful to listen to. Anyway, Wildlands. The game looks good, however the AI…not so much. Check it out for yourself.
Next up on stage was the amazingly named South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Matt Stone and Trey Parker were on stage to present some footage of the game and talk a little about its development.
The Division was up next and this time it was to show off the Underground expansion. This is a part of their ‘year one’ DLC content. As well as Underground was the announcement of Survival.
Ubisoft then showed off a VR game called Eagle Flight. A weird multiplayer, first person flight game. The demo showed off what looked like capture the flag but with birds.
Then there was Star Trek…in VR. Yes, they’re doing a Star Trek VR game. Called Star Trek Bridge Crew, you and your friends can command your own ship.
Then a crazy guy with a cane and an awesome beard came out to talk about For Honor. Nuff said. The game is set for release on Valentines Day next year.
Then there was Grow Up, a sequel to a rather unique platform type game.
AND THEN! Trial of the Blood Dragon. Yes! Trials and Far Cry Blood Dragon have come together, made sweet, sweet love to produce a Trials game that incorporates Blood Dragon stupidity. The game is OUT NOW!
Ubisoft can’t have a press conference without some form of Assassins Creed segment. Despite a game not coming out this year they had to get something in, so let’s talk about the film! Because we all know that what gamers want at their gaming press conference is for people to sit down and talk about a film.
After that lengthy segment, we got more of the Watch_Dogs 2 goodness, showing off a brief segment of the game. It was also announced that Sony would be producing a Watch_Dogs movie.
Then came their ‘one more thing’ to end the show. This came in the shape of Steep, an extreme sports, SSX looking game, where you can traverse mountains and then ride back down them…Not going to lie, this felt like a bit of a damp squib to end the show on, however there will be someone out there, super stoked that this game exists. However, I am still sat here patiently waiting a new Splinter Cell title. Alas, I fear it may never come.
And that’s ya lot when it comes to Ubisoft. Next up was Sony!
