As some of you may know there’s a 7th Fast & Furious film on the way, and to help promote this, it seems the guys at Universal teamed up with the Forza guys to release standalone DLC for Forza Horizon 2
The game uses one the areas used in Forza Horizon 2 (Nice) and focuses on the 10 main vehicles used in the upcoming film. These are usually a two step race to allow you to race for pinks and win the car. As a nice touch, they have Tej Parker (Ludacris) from the film doing the voice over throughout the game.
What the game does very well is give you a feel for Forza Horizon 2, and even give you the option to go directly to the store and buy once you’ve completed the final race. Not only do you get to have a few races, but they’ve also included the additional items like speed cameras, speed camera zones, barns and boards. I was even surprised that about half way through the game, I unlocked online free roam, although I’ve yet to give this a try, if it’s anywhere near as good as the online free roam from Forza Horizon 2, it’s very good value for money. It’s worth pointing out that currently this standalone DLC is currently free until April 10th 2015 on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and then will be available for £7.99
The game itself didn’t take me very long to get the pink slips for the all 10 cars, however with the game leaving you to free roam once complete, there’s loads to mop up afterwards.
It’s worth pointing out that the game is an easy 1000GS too, simply from playing the game I unlocked 24 of the 26 achievements, and the other two took only about 10 minutes to get once I’d read the requirements.
All in all a great little experience, and currently at the price of free, you’d be mad not to pick this up.
