Hot on the heals of The Last of Us, I decided to get the DLC done so I could get the disk back to the rental company.
The story puts you in control of Ellie, and a covered a period of time in the game where she had to survive on her own for a little while, and this was simply skipped over in the main game. In addition to the main DLC story, you get extra insight into a important part of back story of Ellie that was only verbally told in the main game. Being spoiler free, that’s about as much as I can say, however I highly recommend completing the game before playing, otherwise it will spoil the main story.
On the Playstation store for the PS3 version, the DLC is currently £11.99, so I had high expectations, apart from the length, these were met. The DLC had the same combat, storytelling, combat, and same ‘holy shit’ moment as the main game, and was a great addition. I managed to completed the DLC with my normal ‘search everything’ mentality in just over two hours Although it was a great addition to the story, this two hours chunk could have quite easily been part of the main game, and feel that if it hadn’t have been free on the remastered disk, I would have been quite cheated with the length of the content.
If you have the PS4 version, and have the DLC, and have completed the main story, I highly recommend putting two hours to one side to finish it, if you however the PS3 version, I personally think the £11.99 is a little steep and would wait until it’s on sale.
